Notes

Collection type

  • Qubit-required field used to differentiate types of information objects or resources described by different communities (archives, libraries, museums, galleries).
  • Use on both Simple and Qualified DC templates.
  • Maps to Qubit information_object::collection_type_id field.
  • Defaults to "Published material" on assumption that this template will be primarily used to describe these types of materials.
  • Drop-down list values cannot be edited because they are accessed by Qubit code to process database requests and operations; values are [is this list correct?]:
    • Archival material
    • Published material
    • Artefact material
    • Exhibition material

Title

  • DC title element.
  • Use on both Simple and Qualified DC templates.
  • Maps to Qubit information_object::title field.

Alternative title

  • DC alternative qualifier (refines DC title element).
  • Use only on Qualified DC template.
  • Maps to Qubit information_object::alternate_title field.

Resource identifier

  • DC identifier element.
  • Use on both Simple and Qualified DC templates.
  • Maps to Qubit information_object::identifier field.
  • Discrepancy between DC authorities for label: "Resource Identifier" (User guide) and "Identifier" (Element Set Version 1.1).

Bibliographic citation

  • Qualified DC bibliographicCitation qualifier (refines DC identifier element).
  • Use only on Qualified DC template.
  • Does not map to any core Qubit field.
  • Handle as Qubit custom field (property::name="bibliographic_citation" value=" ").

Repository

  • Qubit-required field used to link resource to the repository that has custody and control of it.
  • Use on both Simple and Qualified DC templates.
  • Maps to Qubit information_object::repository_id
  • Values in drop-down list drawn from institutions registered as repositories.
  • Users cannot add new repositories directly from this screen.
